Soak Hair Before you Swim
Saturate your hair before taking a dip in pool or hitting the ocean. Your hair can only take a finite amount of water so if you soak your hair in water first it can help as a protectant against the chlorine and saltwater.
Both chlorine and saltwater can have damaging effect on your hair. However, just don’t stop there, in addition to preventive care such as soaking your hair before your swim, also make sure to wash your hair afterwards!
You still need to wash your hair after your swim to remove the elements of the day, especially with regard to chlorine the longer it sits potentially the more damaging it will become.

Apply Sunscreen to your Lips
This is top of the list as far as summer skin care tips and summer beauty hacks go.
Because not applying sunscreen to your lip could be detrimental to your skin. I get it your lips are so small you just don’t even think about them when you are applying sunscreen to your face. However, the lips are still at risk for skin cancer and the bottom lip is more susceptible than the top lip. According to the Skin Care Foundation, the lower lip is twelve times more likely to be affected than the top lip.
When we think of The simplest way to keep with a simple routine is to apply lip balm with a SPF every two hours and definitely after eating and drinking. Since you are going to be using lip balm anyway just make sure it has SPF! Now you have covered your entire face with SPF and give it the total attention it needs!

Exfoliate at the Beach
When you go to the beach, use it to beautify your body. One way you can do this is to use the beach sand to exfoliate your legs. Don’t be afraid to hone your inner child and play in the sand and submerge yourself in the sand.
I find it very calming to just bury my legs, I often go to the beach to cleanse my soul and I think I can just bury my problems right there into the sand. It can be a very spiritual experience and fun especially if you have kids.
I mean what kid wouldn’t like to bury mommy down into the sand with her permission!

Our clothing is not provided as much of a shield as you might think. But aha, there is a product to fix that. More and more companies are building SPF in clothing to help fight against the damaging effects of the sun, however please don’t skip on the sunscreen.

So right before your beach day, try some dry brushing before donning your bikini.

Try dry brushing morning and night before getting into the shower and then apply some nourishing oil for your long term summer care routine that can transcend seasons. A study revealed that a chocolate high in flavanols, can significantly protect the skin from UV harmful UV effects. Normal chocolate that has been stripped of its antioxidant goodies in the manufacturing process won’t fit the bill.
Your goal is to get as much raw cocoa as you can stand, typically you can get this with higher end dark chocolate because the higher the percentage the greater the antioxidant qualities. If you are going to indulge in chocolate do it right because the quality of the chocolate will make all the difference on the skin!

Apply Baby Oil Before Sunless Tanner
Ok listing this in our list of summer beauty hacks you might be thinking “have you lost your mind?” Don’t most experts tell you to avoid anything oil based before applying sunless tanner because it will give you streaks. Trust me on this one, if done right baby oil can help you obtain a more even, lighter tan for the perfect sun kissed look!
